Cranes installed in Taiwan increase container congestion by 8-10%
Capacity is always a topic of great debate in ocean freight and with OOCL’s purchase and installation of two new cranes, they are taking steps towards clearing up congestion at their Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan. The increase in productivity will bring down costs for shippers, improve service at the port, and will hopefully spur some more business for Tiawan.
This is all part of OOCL’s efforts to improve service and safety at the port. Over the past few years OOCL has been making improvements to their operation and access to information, giving customers, carriers, forwarders and customs brokers great visibility to port operations. Here is a link to the article regarding the new cranes.
